Huanglongbing (Citrus Greening) is a bacterial disease that attacks the flow of nutrients in all types of citrus trees and causes sweet juicy fruit to shrivel and turn bitter.
This disease has devasted the citrus industry through Asia, and since arriving in 2012 to the USA it has reduced the production of citrus by 60% in Florida and California. HBL is killing off the Citrus industry at a frightening pace.
This disease, or importantly the insect that carries the disease (the vector) is a real and serious threat to our own commercial industry and our domestic citrus trees.
Listen to this chilling interview, be viglient, and pray to the bio security gods who protect our horticulture and agricultural industry with their very limited resources.
